The Old Miakka Farmer’s Market is really taking off! With a modest beginning of 4 vendors 8 weeks ago, we’ve now grown to about 17 vendors with several more on the way in the next few weeks! Last week we had market shoppers coming from Arcadia, LaBelle, North Port and Longboat Key in addition to Venice, Sarasota, Bradenton and Old Miakka.
We have fruits and vegetables, including an organic vendor, fresh baked breads, scones, cookies and cupcakes, fresh, local cow and goat’s milk and related products, fresh local eggs, all of which are sold for Pet Consumption Only per the FL. DEPT. of AG.. We also have local craftsmen selling rustic furniture, pottery, aprons and kitchen goods, quilts and much more including local sugar cane syrup, honey, jams & jellies, plants…..more variety every week!
We’re working on a new Farmer’s Market website along with a Facebook page so keep an eye open for those developments. Until then you can click on the Farmer’s Market page on this website for a list of current vendors and many photos of the market.
Hope to see y’all Saturday!
